Do you like reading books and short stories in English? Would you like to join a group of literature lovers that meet on a regular basis to share and discuss what they have read at home?
If your answer to both questions is YES, you’ve come to the right place! Literature improves our language awareness, expands our vocabulary and deepens our understanding of different cultural backgrounds, values and attitudes.
In our Literature Club we will look at various British authors from different literary periods.
You’ll be given sufficient time to read their works at home (six weeks).
In our club sessions, we will then discuss aspects like setting, characters, plot and themes and share our own personal opinions and feelings.
For our four club sessions please read the following books:
22nd October 2024 – “Jane Eyre” by Charlotte Brontë,
Penguin Classics, ISBN 978-0-141-19885-9
3rd December 2024 – “And Then There Were None” by Agatha Christie,
Harper Collins UK, ISBN 978-0-00-713683-4
14th January 2025 – “The Book of Beginnings” by Sally Page,
Harper Collins UK, ISBN 978-0-00-861287-0
25th February 2025 – “Mister God, This is Anna” by Fynn,
Harper Collins UK, ISBN 978-0-00-720202-7
Participants should have at least a B2 level of English.
